Job Description
HireCall is seeking an experienced Paint Prep Technician/Assistant for a local sign shop partner. Individuals with autobody painting techniques, preferred.
Shift: 1st, 7:30am-4:00 pm
Pay: $17 - $19 per hour, DOE
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Responsible for cleaning, sanding and degreasing surfaces to remove dirt before painting
- Responsible for keeping paint guns, rollers, brushes and booths in good working order along with maintaining a clean work environment
- Responsible for managing paint inventory, including but not limited to: paint, primer, thinners, cleaning agents
- Responsible for mixing paint colors
- Maintain a consistent and timely workflow on all projects assigned
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures
- Have a great attitude that promotes a great work environment for painters, fabricators and quality control personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of paint usage, surface preparation methods, and painting procedures for quality assurance and production reports
- 2+ years of experience working in a professional paint or body ship
- Ability to manage multiple custom paint jobs on a variety or substrates
- Knowledge of completing custom fabrication projects
- Valid drivers’ license
- Familiarity with AkzoNobel Paint Systems Ultra Low VOC (A +)
- Familiarity with spraying Dryvit (A +)
- Paint equipment/product knowledge and ability to use DA/compounds, etc.
- Possess beginner to standard level of paint prep/sanding tools
- Must be able to communicate effectively
- Requires moderate to high level of physical activity
