Job Description
Work Is Strong Right Now
Which means we're growing.
Morton Industries has been building things the right way for over 80 years, and demand for our work keeps increasing.
So, we're adding people to the team.
Not just bodies - the kind of people who take pride in doing the job right.
If you're hungry, humble, and smart, you'll probably like it here.
Quick Question
Do you like working with your hands?
Do you like seeing the results of the work you put in at the end of the day?
Do you want steady work with a team that actually has your back?
If you answered yes, keep reading.
The Morton Way (Our Values)
These aren't buzzwords for us.
They're how the place actually runs.
Integrity in Action
We do the right thing - even when nobody's watching.
Focused on Team Success
No lone wolves here. We win together.
Driven to Deliver
When we commit to something, we follow through.
Consistent Progress
We're always improving our people and our processes.
Professional Authenticity
Be yourself. Bring your strengths. Do excellent work.
If that sounds like your kind of environment, you'll fit right in.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
As a Paint Room Technician, you're part of the final stage before our parts ship out into the world. That means what you do matters - because your work is the finish people see.
Your day might include:
- Cleaning and prepping metal parts for coating
- Hanging parts on the paint line so they move smoothly through the process
- Masking or plugging areas that shouldn't be painted
- Removing finished parts once they're coated and cured
- Checking that everything looks right before it ships
- Helping keep the paint area organized, safe, and moving
Some days it's steady rhythm work.
Some days the pace picks up.
Either way, you're part of the team making sure what we ship out looks as good as the work that built it.
Who Thrives Here
Let's keep this simple.
The people who do well at Morton tend to be:
Hungry
You want to work and keep getting better.
Humble
You can take feedback and work with a team.
Smart
You pay attention, solve problems, and figure things out.
We can train machines.
We can train paint processes.
What we can't train is work ethic.
What You Get
Working here isn't just about punching a clock. It's about building something solid for yourself too.
Here's what comes with the job:
- $19-$25 per hour starting pay
- 15% shift premium
- Low-cost medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) with company match
- Paid holidays and paid time off
- Company-paid life insurance
- Short-term and long-term disability coverage
And a few more things we're really proud of:
- Ramsay SmartDollar financial wellness program to help you take control of your money
- Real upward mobility - we've had 100+ internal promotions in the last two years
- Clean, organized manufacturing facilities
- A team culture that actually supports each other
If you show up, work hard, and keep improving, there's room to grow here.
A lot of people start in production and move into machine operation, leadership roles, and other opportunities across the company.
Not Sure If You're Qualified?
Apply anyway.
We hire for character first.
If you're hungry, humble, and smart, we can teach the rest.
Join a Team That Builds Things the Right Way
