Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Painter to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing industrial equipment and components to meet strict quality and customer specifications.
The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of painting experience (preferably aerospace), strong attention to detail, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Surface Preparation & Coating
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, and blasting materials
- Mix paints, coatings, resins, and adhesives according to specifications
- Apply coatings using spray guns (gravity feed, siphon, and other equipment)
- Paint tanks, equipment, and manufactured components to customer specifications
Quality Control & Finishing
- Measure paint thickness using gauges and ensure compliance with standards
- Inspect finished products for quality, consistency, and accuracy
- Perform touch-ups and correct surface imperfections as needed
Technical & Production Support
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, diagrams, and specifications
- Operate hand and power tools including sanders, drills, and sandblasters
- Maintain accurate paint inventory and material handling practices
Maintenance & Safety
- Perform preventative maintenance on painting equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
Team Support
- Cross-train in other production areas as needed
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and quality goals
Qualifications
- 2+ years of industrial, automotive, or aerospace painting experience (aerospace preferred)
- Experience using spray guns and industrial coating equipment
- Ability to read blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings
- Familiarity with paint thickness gauges and inspection tools
- Basic math skills (measurements, fractions, and decimals)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
