Job Title: Paraprofessional (Classroom Assistant)Location: Columbus, NEPay: $15.96/hourJob Type: Temp-to-PermAbout the Role:We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessionals to join our client's team. In this role, you will assist the classroom teacher in creating a supportive, engaging and productive learning environment for students. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education, enjoy working with children and can work collaboratively while also taking initiative when needed.Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher in preparing instructional materials and managing the classroom.
- Provide instructional support to individuals or small groups under teacher direction to achieve educational goals.
- Maintain designated daily, weekly and monthly records.
- Support classroom routines which may include:
- Managing student behavior
- Assisting with student transitions
- Leading or participating in activities
- Preparing snacks
- Maintaining a clean, organized and welcoming classroom environment
- Participate in professional development opportunities including in-service training and conferences.
- Collaborate in planning classroom activities and solving challenges related to routines or individual student needs.
- Attend meetings related to school, classroom or student needs.
- Adhere to district and building policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Demonstrate respect, professionalism and courtesy with students, staff, and families.
- Work independently to complete tasks as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required;additional education or experience in education preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with students of varying abilities in a supportive manner.
- Organized, dependable, and adaptable to different situations.
- Committed to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
