Job Description

Position Summary:

This is an on-site role for a Contracts Analyst/Construction Paralegal located in the Mooresville, NC area. The Contracts Analyst/Construction Paralegal will be primarily responsible for reviewing, redlining, and negotiating construction contracts for the company. The role requires the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to ensure that contract management supports business objectives. In addition, the Contracts Analyst/Construction Paralegal will be responsible for supporting other compliance-related matters such as submitting insurance claims, completing prequalification documents, processing payment and performance bonds, managing outside litigation (with attorney assistance), preparing legal documents, demand letters, and overseeing / assisting with the company’s business, contractor, and corporate licensing programs. This is an in office position.

Responsibilities:

·Review, redline, and negotiate subcontract agreements including the boilerplate and project-specific scope of work provisions with attorney and construction team assistance.

·Support the management of Procore and Salesforce for legal and compliance documentation, project-specific data, and ensuring accurate and accessible records.

·Draft and negotiate employment and licensing agreements with company license holders, ensuring compliance with state and company requirements.

·Manage and update jurisdictional licensing renewals, coordinating with the finance and HR departments to ensure timely processing.

·Support marketing, finance, HR, supply chain, business development, operations, and other departments with legal-related assistance as needed, contributing to the company’s growth and compliance efforts.

·Coordinate the organizational and practical implementation of legal and compliance processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.

·Review incident reports, update insurance claims tracking, submit insurance claims, and monitor claims processing through completion.

·Support insurance renewals, processing, and record keeping.

·Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

·Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Paralegal Studies, or related field; or demonstrated equivalent experience (i.e., Paralegal Certificate).

·5+  years’ experience in a law firm or 3+ years’ experience in-house at a company managing and/or facilitating the contract review and negotiation process.

·Experience in or with the construction industry and an understanding of subcontract agreements specifically is preferred.

·Strong administrative and organizational skills, familiarity with legal documentation and compliance processes, proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and adaptable to learning other software. 

·Strong attention to detail and ability to balance competing priorities is imperative.

·Strong legal research and writing skills.

·Possession of notary licensure (or willingness to obtain licensure).
