Job Description
This role is pivotal in supporting attorneys through every stage of personal injury litigation, from the initial client engagement through settlement or trial proceedings. The position demands collaboration with clients, healthcare providers, and opposing legal teams.
Key Duties Include: * Prepare and manage legal paperwork such as complaints, discovery materials, subpoenas, motions, and settlement documentation. * Oversee case files, ensuring all documentation is current and accurately maintained. * Organize and arrange depositions, independent medical examinations, and court schedules. * Collect, review, and synthesize medical records and associated billing. * Engage clients regularly to relay case progress and collect essential data. * Monitor case timelines, ensuring all deadlines are met without delay. * Create trial notebooks, prepare exhibits, and support preparation for court presentations. * Aid in the negotiation and finalization of lien settlements and monetary resolutions.
Required Experience & Skills: * A bachelor's degree or its equivalent is necessary. * Minimum of 4 years in a legal assistant or paralegal position, with experience in litigation support. * Mandatory in-office presence in Westbury, Long Island.
