Job Description

Join a dynamic legal team in Westbury, NY, that requires a skilled and meticulous professional to assist with personal injury cases. You will play a crucial role in supporting attorneys throughout all stages of the legal process, from initial client intake to the resolution of cases. Expect to liaise with clients, medical professionals, and opposing legal teams.

Key Duties:

- Prepare, assess, and submit legal paperwork such as complaints, responses to discovery, subpoenas, motions, and settlements. - Organize and keep comprehensive case files with up-to-date records. - Facilitate deposition scheduling, medical evaluations, and court dates. - Obtain, analyze, and summarize medical documentation and expenses. - Maintain client communication for updates and data collection. - Monitor legal timelines to ensure prompt filing. - Compile trial documents, exhibits, and other legal materials. - Support the negotiation and resolution of settlements and liens.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years working as a paralegal within personal injury law. - Knowledgeable in litigation processes, court systems, and legal jargon related to personal injury. - Skilled in using legal management tools and Microsoft Office. - Outstanding skills in organization, time management, and multitasking. - Effective communicator, both written and verbal. - Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively. - A certificate as a paralegal or a degree at the associate/bachelor level is advantageous.
