Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and organized Paralegal to join a firm in downtown El Paso. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys in various legal tasks, ensuring smooth operation within the firm. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of legal procedures. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support attorneys in case preparation.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and contracts.
- Organize and maintain documents in both electronic and physical filing systems.
- Assist in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and coordinating with witnesses.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and court personnel as needed.
- Manage deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively to meet case requirements.
- Perform administrative duties such as scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and billing clients.
- Proven experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in a law firm setting.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
- Strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Familiarity with electronic discovery and litigation support tools.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.
