Job Description

A Newport Beach litigation boutique focused on representing individuals in medical malpractice, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and complex personal injury matters is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in high-stakes civil litigation matters from case intake through trial.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented litigation professional who enjoys working on meaningful cases involving serious injury and medical negligence.

Experience in resolving disputes involving:

Medical Malpractice
General Liability [personal injury and premises liability]
Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith
Professional Liability
Product Liability
Commercial Litigation

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with all phases of civil litigation • Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery requests, and discovery responses • Manage and organize large volumes of medical records and case files • Prepare medical record summaries and case chronologies • Coordinate with medical experts and expert witnesses • Assist with depositions, mediations, and trial preparation • File documents in state and federal courts (including e-filing) • Communicate with clients, medical providers, and opposing counsel • Assist with preparation of demand packages and settlement materials

Requirements

3+ years of litigation paralegal experience
Experience in medical malpractice or personal injury litigation strongly preferred
Strong understanding of California civil procedure and litigation timelines
Experience reviewing and summarizing medical records
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced litigation environment

Preferred

Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience
Trial preparation experience
Experience working with medical experts
