Job Description
Goosmann Law Firm is seeking a full-time Paralegal to join our team! This position is based out of our Omaha office. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with a team of experienced attorneys on a wide range of legal matters, with a strong focus on Family Law, Divorce, and Custody cases.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in preparing legal documents, managing case files, and communicating effectively with clients and legal professionals. This position offers a collaborative and fast-paced work environment with regular in-office hours: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM & Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents including pleadings, motions, and correspondence
- Manage case files, deadlines, and maintain attorney calendar
- Organize pleadings, discovery materials, and exhibits
- File documents with state courts in Iowa and Nebraska
- Prepare trial materials including evidence binders, briefs, and appendices
- Communicate clearly and professionally with attorneys, clients, and court personnel
- Use Microsoft Office and legal practice management software proficiently
- Track and manage time effectively across multiple cases and deadlines
- Accurately document billable time for all tasks performed

Qualifications:
- Associate degree or certificate in Paralegal Studies required
- 2-3 years of paralegal experience, preferably in Family Law or related practice areas
- Valid driver's license required
- Notary Public designation preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
