Our global real estate group is renowned for first-class legal skills and market knowledge. As an integrated, cross-border group, we bring client-focused innovation to bear in pioneering new deal structures and in delivering legal services.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of title and survey work, be known for proactively completing tasks and following through with the speedy resolution of issues with minimal supervision and demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines under very tight time constraints and other demands. For purposes of supervision and reporting, the position will receive day-to-day work direction and oversight from the Real Estate partners. Administratively, the position will report to the Director of Practice Support.

The position's primary responsibilities include:

  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of title and survey review across all types and sizes of transactions for the firm's Real Estate practice.

  • Review and summarize exceptions listed in title commitments, identify and analyze title issues, finalize pro formas and related endorsements, assist with collating and coordinating flood due diligence for clients, and work closely with deal attorneys to develop practical solutions or structure alternatives for title issues.

  • Execute the timely completion of due diligence deliverables, often under tight transaction deadlines.

  • Manage various transactions, which vary in size and complexity from single-property deals to complex portfolios involving 50 to 100 properties or significantly more.

  • Support and partner with attorneys, who will work directly with title companies, borrower's counsel, and other third parties to ensure all diligence is completed efficiently and accurately.

  • Meet the minimum requirement of 1,650 annual billable hours.

  • All members of the firm are encouraged to participate in our firm's Global Responsible Business program.

  • Work on other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrates sound judgment and strong adherence and sensitivity to confidential matters.

  • Ability to work well with and gain the confidence of professionals and attorneys at all levels.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word) and other computer skills.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Five (5)+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably from a large law firm or title company environment required.

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Experience performing diligence directly.
