Position Overview
The Immigration Paralegal will develop and maintain supportfor our attorneys by performing substantive legal work, including casepreparation and filing legal documents. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented,highly organized, able to multitask under pressure, and committed to providingexceptional support to clients and staff. This role involves heavy use of legalsoftware for research, document management, and electronic filing.
Key Responsibilities
Case& Document Preparation
Assist attorneys in preparing cases for interviews,hearings, and court appearancesConduct preliminary legal and factual research,including local and federal statutes, country conditions, and case law
Draft letters, pleadings, petitions, applications,motions, briefs, contracts, affidavits, declarations, and other legal documentsfor attorney review
Compile and organize evidence and supportingdocumentation
File documents with USCIS, the Department of State,NVC, EOIR, BIA, and other court systems as needed
Calendar& Deadline Management
Monitor and maintain the master calendar and attorneyschedules
Confirm deadlines, set reminders, and ensure allfilings and appearances are met on time
Verify client contact information is accurate for allscheduled appointments
Ensure timely responses to agency requests
Client& Case Management
Organize and maintain physical and electronic casefiles in compliance with firm procedures
Communicate with clients to gather information, providecase status updates, and draft correspondence including close letters
Confirm client appearances for court dates andscheduled appointments
Conduct periodic case status audits and submit caseinquiries to USCIS as needed
Maintain detailed case notes so team members can assistclients in your absence
Communication& Scheduling
Answer and direct telephone calls; respond to clientcommunications within 24 hours (excluding weekends and holidays)
Monitor and respond to shared email and personal workemail
Set out-of-office messages or forward calls to answeringservice when absent more than 24 hours
Schedule consultations, process payments, and setappointment reminders
Greet and assist walk-in clients; encourage scheduledappointments when possible
Administrative& Office Support
Assist with case intake, billing, and client managementsystems
Manage and maintain current client contact information
Conduct client and witness interviews, investigations,and summarize depositions and transcripts as needed
Support general clerical duties including filing,scanning, shredding, and record keeping
May supervise or provide guidance to support staff andstudent employees
Maintain professional development through seminars,workshops, and professional affiliations to stay current on immigration law
In-OfficeResponsibilities
Maintain a clean, welcoming reception area; greet allvisitors and offer refreshments
Keep coffee stations and mini fridges stocked; wipedown consultation tables between appointments
Ensure office supply inventory is monitored andrestocked as needed
Maintain organized physical files in alphabetical orderper firm filing procedures
Open and secure the office (lights on in the morning,doors locked at close)
Assist with vacuuming, dusting, and general upkeep ofpublic areas and personal workspace
Take out garbage and recycling as needed; supportteammates when additional help is needed

Requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skillsHigh level of professionalism and discretion whenhandling sensitive information
Exceptional attention to detail with excellent grammar,punctuation, and spelling
Effective time management and the ability to prioritizein a deadline-driven environment
Proficient typing and computer skills; experience withlegal software preferred
Experience with scheduling, calendar management, andrecord keeping
Ability to work independently and collaborativelywithin a small team
Prior legal or administrative experience preferred
Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred
