Paralegal

ParalegalThe responsibilities of this classification include researching, writing, reviewing and preparing vital information as it relates to court cases and other legal matters in support of an attorney or other administrative supervisor. Working independently under general supervision this position will:Review assigned documents; prepare documents in response to request redacting information as required.Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge/Skills A Bachelor degree in Paralegal studies, or a certificate from an accredited paralegal training institution or any combination of criminal paralegal experience/education/training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the workKnowledge of current civil and criminal law and terminology, court rules and proceduresKnowledge of current research methods and practices Knowledge of general office equipment Skill in legal research and analysis Effective verbal and written communication skills Skill in using current office software including on-line research, word processing, spreadsheet, email and database programsSkill in planning, organizing and time and project managementSkill in interpreting contracts, regulations and lawsSkill in working with a variety of individuals from diverse backgroundsSkill in handling multiple competing priorities and functioning well under time pressureAbility to work independently and exercise good judgmentOFFER OF EMPLOYMENT WILL BE CONTINGENT ON THE SUCCESS OF: Ability to pass a Washington State Patrol Background Check
