Paralegal – Employment Law
Pay Rate: $45,000–$65,000/year; Based on experienceLocation: Albany, NY (On-site)Employment Type: Permanent
Experience: Employment law and/or civil litigation paralegal experience preferredSkills: Experience with legal drafting, e-filing, and Microsoft Office required
Our growing client is seeking a Paralegal to support attorneys in a busy Employment Law practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented legal professional to work on a variety of employment-related litigation matters while gaining hands-on experience throughout every phase of the litigation process.
Responsibilities of the Paralegal – Employment Law will include:
- Assist attorneys throughout all phases of employment litigation, from case initiation through trial and appeals
- Prepare and draft legal correspondence, pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and settlement materials
- File legal documents in state and federal courts using electronic filing systems
- Organize and maintain electronic case files and supporting documentation
- Obtain, review, and maintain client records and other case-related materials
- Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, trials, and meetings
- Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, vendors, and other parties involved in litigation
- Track case deadlines and assist with overall case management
- Provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys as needed
Qualifications for the role of Paralegal – Employment Law:
- Previous paralegal experience required; employment law experience preferred
- Civil litigation experience will be considered
- Experience with state and federal court e-filing preferred
- Familiarity with EEOC, employment discrimination, wage and hour, or related employment law matters is a plus
- Experience with PACER and federal court filings preferred
- Class action litigation experience is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven legal environment
