Litigation Paralegal / Legal Assistant
Salt Lake City, UT | Civil Litigation
A well-established civil litigation practice is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal / Legal Assistant to join a busy and professional legal environment. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional who enjoys working independently, managing a variety of responsibilities, and playing a key role in the success of a litigation practice.
Compensation
- $65,000–$70,000+ annually, depending on experience
- Compensation commensurate with qualifications and skill level
Position Overview
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive litigation support and administrative assistance in a civil litigation practice. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines and priorities with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, edit, proofread, and finalize legal documents and correspondence
- Transcribe attorney dictation and audio recordings accurately
- Draft and format pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation-related documents
- File documents electronically in both state and federal courts
- Maintain case calendars, monitor deadlines, and coordinate scheduling
- Organize and manage electronic and physical case files
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and third parties
- Assist with administrative and office support functions as needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting civil litigation matters
- Experience with state and federal court e-filing systems
- Strong dictation and transcription skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, PDF software, and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting a solo practitioner or small law firm
- Strong document formatting and file management skills
- Proven ability to work with minimal supervision
- Dependable, professional, and service-oriented approach
