Job Description

OverviewThe Paramedic responds to both emergency and non‑emergency calls, delivering skilled care in fast‑moving and routine situations alike. The role includes completing daily and weekly operational tasks that keep ambulances and medi‑vans clean, stocked, and ready for service. During Advanced Life Support calls, the Paramedic provides clear direction and strong clinical leadership to EMTs, ensuring coordinated, effective patient care.QualificationsICS‑100: National Incident Management System (NIMS)

ResponsibilitiesResponds to emergency calls and provides immediate care to ill and injured individuals.Checks and monitors ambulance readiness before each shift.Cleans ambulances, utility vehicles, and crew quarters daily.Clearly communicates crew and vehicle position at all times.Provides direction to EMTs during ambulance calls.Transports patients using a wheelchair van when needed.Manages patient care during transport to the hospital.Assesses blood glucose levels and provides treatment when appropriate.Monitors heart rhythms, interprets 12‑lead ECGs, and provides ACLS interventions when necessary.Performs CPR.Administers medications through IV, IO, IM, SQ, and IN routes.Intubates adult and pediatric patients.Manages airway during transport.Assists with out‑of‑hospital childbirth and manages care of both mother and newborn.
