Paramedic

Position Summary:

The Paramedic is responsible for delivering advanced pre-hospital emergency medical care and safe patient transport in accordance with established protocols, medical direction, and scope of practice. The role involves rapid assessment, stabilization, and management of critically ill or injured patients in emergency and non-emergency settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments including primary and secondary surveys
• Provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) interventions in emergency situations
• Manage airway using advanced techniques (oxygen therapy, BVM, supraglottic devices as permitted)
• Perform cardiac monitoring and interpret EKG rhythms
• Administer emergency medications per protocol and medical direction
• Initiate IV/IO access and fluid therapy as indicated
• Manage trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and medical emergencies
• Provide safe and efficient patient transport to appropriate healthcare facilities
• Document patient care accurately and maintain complete electronic/paper PCRs
• Operate and maintain emergency response vehicles and medical equipment
• Collaborate with EMTs, nurses, physicians, and dispatch teams during patient care
• Follow infection control, safety, and compliance standards at all times

Required Skills & Qualifications

• State Paramedic Certification (current and valid)
• Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications (or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of EMS protocols and emergency pharmacology
• Ability to perform under pressure in high-acuity environments
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills
• Proficient in patient assessment and critical thinking
• Valid driver s license with clean driving record (if transport duties included)

Preferred Experience

• 1 3+ years of field Paramedic experience in EMS or hospital-based transport
• Experience in high-volume 911 systems or critical care transport preferred
