1:1 Social-Emotional Support Paraprofessional – Baldwin High School
Position OverviewECKCE is seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated 1:1 Social-Emotional Support Paraprofessional to work with a high school student requiring individualized support throughout the school day. This role focuses on helping the student develop social-emotional skills, remain regulated and engaged in learning, and successfully navigate the academic and social demands of the high school environment.
Responsibilities
Provide direct, one-on-one support to a designated student throughout the school day
Assist the student with emotional regulation, coping strategies, and stress management
Coach and model positive social interactions, communication, and problem-solving skills
Implement behavior support plans and interventions as directed
Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and related service providers to ensure consistent support
Support the student in accessing academic instruction and school activities
Collect observational data and communicate progress to the student's team
Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and positive rapport
Experience working with adolescents in a school, youth program, or similar setting strongly preferred.
Ability to remain calm, supportive, and solutions-focused in challenging situations
Strong interpersonal communication skills and a student-centered approach
Willingness to learn and implement evidence-based strategies and supports
