Job Description

The Parents as Teachers Home Visitor builds meaningful relationships with families and walks alongside parents during their child's most important early years. Through home visits, parenting groups, and community connections, you will support families as they discover their strengths, grow their confidence, and create strong foundations for their children.

This role provides strength-based, trauma-informed support and education focused on child development, family well-being, and helping every child reach their full potential.

COMPENSATION: $20.24 - $20.50/hr DOE

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Part-Time | 20 hrs a week

SCHEDULE: Flexible to meet client needs | Training will take place the first couple of weeks and require 40 hrs a week during that time. After training has been completed the hours will recede back down to the allotted 20 hrs a week.

What you will do:

  • Partner with families through regular home visits to support child development and strengthen parenting skills.
  • Conduct developmental screenings, provide educational resources, and connect families with community services.
  • Plan and facilitate family-focused events and activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with program requirements.
  • Support program growth through community outreach and family recruitment.
  • Collaborate with community partners and participate in ongoing training and professional development.

What we are looking for:

  • HS Diploma or GED

  • Valid DL

  • 2 yrs experience with maternal/child health, child development, and/or public health

  • Experience working with families with young children, families with limited resources and/or special needs, using parent skills curricula, leading and/or working in small groups, teaching or presenting to individuals or groups, and computer programs such as Microsoft and Outlook.
