Location: Child & Family- 620 NE 2nd St., Gresham, OR 97030
Schedule: This is an in-person position, Monday through Friday, 8:30am- 5:00pm
Wage Range: $23.00 - $28.50 hourly, non-exempt

Position Overview:
The Parent Support Specialist is responsible for completing parenting assessments, working in full partnership with Parenting Program Coordinator and other team members to develop a parenting plan, implementing the plan, and maintaining regular communication with DHS and other community partners, attending Family Decision Meetings and other meetings as able. Responsible for providing primarily in-home and community-based services in conjunction with contracts between DHS and NARA Northwest.
What you will do:
- Complete and/or review the Parenting Assessment of each parent/relative who is referred for Parenting and Relative Support Services.
- Effectively incorporates strengths as interventions into plans of care.
- Provide role modeling, skill building, and specific interventions to create positive change and increase stability in placement.
- May be required to facilitate and/or co-facilitate parenting groups.
- Incorporates individual family beliefs and traditions into assessments and plans.
- Ensures that parent/relative involvement is maintained throughout the service period.
- Consistently delivers strength-based, family-driven services.
- Reviews information and data with team members for inclusion in planning and decision-making.
- Transport children to visitation groups and other approved appointments.
- Uses resources and available flex funding to assure that services are based specifically on the needs of the child(ren) and parent(s).
