Job Description
Job Summary
The City of Oneonta Park & Recreation Department is seeking a dependable part-time employee to assist with routine grounds maintenance at Park & Recreation facilities. This entry-level position focuses primarily on mowing, weed-eating, and general landscaping tasks to help maintain clean, safe, and attractive public spaces.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Mow grass and perform weed-eating at Park & Recreation properties.
Perform general landscaping and grounds upkeep, including trimming, edging, and debris removal.
Assist with basic cleanup of park areas and common spaces.
Operate basic landscaping equipment safely and properly.
Report maintenance issues or safety concerns to supervisors.
Follow all safety guidelines and departmental procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor conditions, including heat.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
Valid driver's license preferred.
Work Schedule
Up to 28 hours per week.
Flexible scheduling based on department needs.
Primarily daytime hours; occasional early mornings may be required.
