Responsible for materials movement, event support, and delivering high-quality customer service to various university stakeholders.

Job Description:

The Parking and Transportation Services Department is seeking a Parking Enforcement Officer with a strong commitment to customer service and safety.  This role supports 24/7 parking operations by patrolling university properties, enforcing parking regulations, and assisting the public.  The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently during assigned shift hours.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, multiple shifts available

  • 11:00am- 7:30pm, Monday- Friday

  • 2:30pm- 11:00pm, Monday- Friday

Note: Training may require a temporary training location and shift hours. Alternate hours may be assigned with advance notice. Eligible shifts receive up to $1.50/hour shift differential.

Position Salary Range:

  • $20.50 per hour

Essential Duties:

  • Patrol assigned areas to identify and cite vehicles in violation of ASU parking regulations.

  • Provide customer assistance, including directions, resolving complaints, and handling lockouts or battery jumps.

  • Issue warnings or citations; install immobilization devices; initiate towing or impoundment as needed.

  • Document daily activities, interactions, and citations; submit end-of-shift reports.

  • Monitor and report damaged or missing signage and malfunctioning parking equipment.

  • Use AIMS and other systems to perform enforcement actions.

  • Direct traffic and enforce parking controls during university events.

  • Conduct minor equipment repairs and issue citations as necessary.

  • Train new staff in enforcement procedures and equipment usage.

  • Prepare for and potentially provide testimony in parking appeals or court hearings.

  • Drive ASU-owned or leased vehicles and carts on and between campus locations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support campus safety and parking operations.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Two years of parking enforcement or related experience.

  • Experience in customer service (minimum 6 months).

  • Experience in parking operations or enforcement (1 year preferred).

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both in writing and verbally.

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and computer-based systems.

  • Background in law enforcement, security, or other regulatory roles.

  • Experience documenting incidents and writing detailed reports.

  • Familiarity with Aims and Amano or similar enforcement software.

  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Special Requirements:

This position requires possession of a valid Arizona Class D Driver’s License at the time of hire and throughout employment. Candidates must also maintain an acceptable driving record, defined as fewer than five points on their motor vehicle record, in accordance with university and departmental standards for operating university vehicles.

Working Environment:

  • Frequent extensive walking and standing.

  • Exposure to outdoor elements (heat, cold, rain, dust, etc.).

  • Frequent use of two-way radios and computers.

  • Frequent lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
