Louisiana State University of Alexandria (LSUA) invites applicants for multiple part-time adjunct instructor positions in Chemistry. LSUA is partnering with LSU to offer a hybrid, mostly online B.S. in Chemistry and will count on new hires to play a vital role in this partnership. Adjuncts will be required to complete an intensive guided design model program designed to guide new hires through the development of an online course that is fully aligned with the LSU Online program, meets accessibility standards, and ensures a consistent and positive learning experience for students. Adjuncts will instruct this course beginning in the 2026-2027 academic year. The department is looking for applicants in all areas of chemistry, but priority will be given to those with a background in inorganic or physical chemistry. Qualifications: M.S., M.A., or Ph.D. in chemistry with at least 18 graduate hours in chemistry. A minimum of two years of experience developing or instructing online courses is preferred. ABD will be considered if the Ph.D. is completed by the time of hire.
Responsibilities:
Typical duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Continues to meet LSU Online training requirements and expectations
- Develops and instructs online courses as assigned
- Maintains high standards of instruction
- Responds to student emails within 24 hours or the next business day
- Keeps regular office hours and maintains a willingness to be receptive to students electronically
- Assists with curriculum development
- Performs other duties as assigned
