General Description/Primary Purpose:

Part-time adjunct facultypositionin the School of Music.Adjunctfacultyareemployed on a semester-by-semester basis, as needed, and are non-tenure-earning.

Position responsibilities include butarenot limited to:

  • Teach assigned course(s) in accordance with the approved syllabus and courseschedule

  • Hold scheduled office hours with frequency and modality as negotiated with department chair.

Working Hours: Part-time

Work Schedule: Varies

Supervision Exercised:This is not a supervisoryrole.

Required Licensure:N/A

Anticipated Start Date:The position is expected to begin on Aug. 3, 2026.

Compensation:Adjunctfaculty are paid a minimum of $1000 per credit hour.All exceptions must be approved by the Provost or his/her designee.

Required Qualifications:At a minimum, applicants must have earned a master’sdegree in the hiring discipline or closely related field., ora bachelor’sdegree in music with evidence ofsubstantialexperience andexpertisein related field at the time of appointment. 

PreferredQualifications:

  • Experience teaching at the collegiate level.
  • Experience teachingin a Learning Management System (LMS) platform, particularly the Canvas application.  
  • Experience teaching(insert name of preferred courses) at graduate level.

Required Qualifications

Temporary appointment extended to an expert in a specific field to give instruction in connection with an established program. The appointments are: for one (1) academic term at a time and possess no continuing contractual relationship with the University. May teach undergrad courses with Master's degree in specified discipline. Can be used for temporary (OPS) faculty titles only.
