Job Overview Part-Time Pediatric Physical Therapist (Special Education) Compensation: $46 $48/hour Location: Bronx, NY Schedule: Part-time, 3 days per week TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Part-Time Pediatric Physical Therapist in Bronx, NY for our client, providing school-based physical therapy services to students with visual impairments and multiple disabilities. This role includes conducting evaluations, implementing IEP-based interventions, and supporting functional mobility and classroom participation. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of pediatric or school-based physical therapy experience with complex student populations. Responsibilities as the Part-Time Pediatric Physical Therapist: IEP-Based Therapeutic Intervention: Design and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals to improve mobility, posture, and functional independence. Evaluations & Assessments: Conduct initial, annual, and triennial evaluations and provide goal recommendations during IEP meetings. Adaptive Equipment & Mobility Support: Assess and recommend positioning equipment, mobility aids, and orthotics in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate progress notes and Medicaid and IDEA-compliant documentation. Interdisciplinary & Family Collaboration: Partner with educators and parents to integrate therapy into academic programming and support carryover of therapeutic strategies. Qualifications for the Part-Time Pediatric Physical Therapist: Education: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program required. Licensure: Active New York State Physical Therapist license required. Experience: 2+ years of pediatric or school-based physical therapy experience required, with demonstrated experience supporting students with visual impairments and multiple disabilities. Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of IEP development, IDEA compliance, Medicaid documentation requirements, and school-based therapy best practices. Skills & Attributes: Effective communicator and collaborative team member with strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to respond constructively to supervisory feedback in an educational environment.
