JOB SUMMARY:

The Part-Time South Town Security Officer is responsible for helping maintain a safe and secure environment for Smith Entertainment Group properties, employees, tenants, and guests at The Shops at South Town. This position supports daily security operations during high-traffic periods and assists with maintaining a visible security presence throughout the property. This is a part-time position working approximately 10-30 hours per week. The primary schedule will typically be weekday swing shifts from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, during the mall's busier hours. Additional shifts may occasionally be scheduled as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Wage: $17.50 per hour.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enforce and comply with company policies and post orders.
  • Provide a visible security presence and act as a deterrent to unsafe or inappropriate behavior.
  • Monitor and observe people and property within assigned areas.
  • Write accurate and detailed reports of incidents.
  • Enforce venue rules and regulations.
  • Control access to authorized areas.
  • Help prevent theft or property damage.
  • Conduct foot patrols or maintain assigned posts as directed.
  • Interact professionally and respectfully with guests, employees, and visitors.
  • Report situations outside of training and knowledge to a supervisor.
  • Contact law enforcement or emergency responders when necessary.
  • Drive a company vehicle for patrols, when assigned.
  • Promote safety for employees, guests, and performers.
  • Represent the company in a positive and professional manner.
  • Protect the reputation of the company.
  • Exemplify the Delta Center mission and values: transparent, all in, community obsessed, one team, and scrappy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid Utah driver's license.
  • Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) screening in accordance with company policy and insurance requirements.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test.
  • Must be able to take objections and respond with a guest service approach first.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written directions.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other employees.
  • Maintain a professional appearance as set by Smith Entertainment Group Management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally
  • This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate, and assess
  • This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time
  • This person must be able to lift 25 lbs
