Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

Directs multiple production phases within a specific project. Ensure production schedules are met. Performs under general directions the Project Manager, Facility Manager and or General Manager.

Ensures that all safety programs, policies and procedures are followed. Assists foremen in conducting safety meetings.
Reviews production drawings and determines production requirements, equipment and procedures.
Coordinates with assignments and instruction of employees with Department Heads to ensure proper, efficient work procedures.
Monitors production daily and requisition additional material, equipment and manpower as required.
Coordinates with quality control managers to ensure product compliance with Company standards and specifications.
Studying specifications to plan procedures for construction on the basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
Reviews production drawings and determines production requirements, equipment and procedures.

Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities

Considerable knowledge of manufacturing operations as related to products and projects and applicable regulatory requirements and practices. Ability to Analyze and interpret blueprints and production drawings. Ability to plan cost-effective work procedures compatibility with quality requirements. Ability to effectively communicate, instruct, build, and direct a production team.

High school diploma or GED, supplemented by course work in production management, industrial technology or related area, or equivalent job training/experience. Needs experience in operations and supervision. Needs experience in shipyard.
