As part of Sigma, a global food company, we combine time-honored dairy processes with modern technology to ensure every product meets the highest standards of quality and safety.

We are seeking a Pasteurizer Lead to oversee our pasteurization and whey processing operations—critical steps in the cheese-making process. In this leadership role, you will ensure that raw ingredients are processed safely, efficiently, and consistently, setting the foundation for the quality of every cheese product we produce.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who understands dairy operations, thrives in a production environment, and can guide teams to deliver consistent, high-quality results.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead, support, and direct production employees—assigning tasks, coordinating workflows, and driving productivity
  • Troubleshoot operational issues quickly to minimize disruptions and maintain production flow
  • Ensure all processes meet food safety standards, SQF requirements, and OSHA regulations
  • Maintain accurate production records, reports, and compliance documentation
  • Communicate closely with Cheese Makers and production teams to ensure smooth operations and consistent output
  • Monitor ingredient usage and ensure all raw materials are utilized within required timeframes to maintain freshness
  • Coordinate and schedule whey pickups to support efficient processing and plant operations
  • Track daily usage of raw materials and support inventory accuracy
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across the team

In this role, your leadership directly impacts the quality, consistency, and safety of the cheese products our customers trust every day.

  • Knowledge of SQF (Safe Quality Food) Code and food safety regulations
  • Experience with quality control standards and compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with chemical handling and safety procedures in food production
  • Ability to lead teams, delegate tasks, and manage production workflows effectively
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills with cross-functional teams including production and cheese-making staff
  • Ability to monitor processes, analyze data, and drive continuous improvement

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Work in a production environment with exposure to machinery, heat, and varying conditions
  • Required to wear appropriate PPE at all times
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
