We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Patient Coordinator / Front Desk Associate to serve as the first point of contact for patients. This individual will play a key role in front office operations, with a strong emphasis on insurance verification, patient intake, and ensuring accurate financial and demographic information.

Job Details
Key ResponsibilitiesGreet and check in patients, providing a professional and welcoming experienceVerify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage prior to appointmentsCollect co-pays, verify required documentation, and explain basic coverage information to patientsAccurately enter and update patient demographics and insurance details in the EHRSchedule, confirm, and manage patient appointmentsAssist with patient registration, intake forms, and sliding fee scale documentation (FQHC setting)Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and route calls appropriatelyCoordinate referrals, authorizations, and follow-up appointmentsMaintain organized front desk operations and support efficient patient flowEnsure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards
Qualifications1–3+ years of experience in a medical front desk, patient services, or healthcare administrative roleHands-on experience with insurance verification, eligibility checks, and patient intake requiredExperience in an FQHC or community health setting preferredStrong understanding of insurance types (Medicaid, Medicare, commercial plans)Familiarity with EHR systems (eClinicalWorks, Epic, or similar)Excellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environmentBilingual (Spanish or other languages) is a plusHigh school diploma or equivalent required
