Job Description
Job Summary:We are seeking qualified candidates with prior healthcare office experience to join our client's practice in Portland, ME. As a Patient Service Specialist, you will be responsible for high-volume patient coordination for new and existing patients, and processing of prior authorizations and incoming/outgoing patient referrals.
This is a great temp-to-hire opportunity for candidates seeking a foot-in-the-door opportunity to a large and established Maine healthcare network. This is an immediate temp-to-hire position that will transition into an internal company position for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage patient scheduling
- Process and track incoming referrals, ensuring timely completion and communication
- Greet and assist patients and visitors with professionalism and empathy
- Support check-in and check-out processes and maintain accurate patient records
- Answer and triage phone calls, messages, and appointment inquiries
- Verify insurance information and assist with authorization processes
- Work collaboratively with providers, nurses, and care teams to maintain efficient clinic operations
- Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to the network's policies and procedures
