Job Description
Job Title: Payroll AdministratorLocation: Birmingham, AL or Atlanta, GADuration: 8+ months
Role: Manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely distribution of employee wages and benefits. Collaborate with HR and Finance teams and maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead payroll processing, including timesheet review, adjustments, and complex employee data (hires, terminations, status changes).
Calculate and process payroll deductions (taxes, benefits, withholdings).
Prepare payroll reports, summaries, and statements.
Act as primary contact for payroll inquiries and collaborate with Compliance, HR, and Finance.
Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure regulatory compliance.
Stay current on payroll regulations and best practices.
Experience with Davis Bacon and Related Acts (DBRA) and certified payroll monitoring preferred.
Respond to federal auditing and reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; accounting/finance education a plus.
5–10 years payroll administration experience.
Strong knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and employment laws.
Proficient in payroll software and MS Office, especially Excel.
Excellent attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team, fast-paced environment.
