Job Summary:
The Payroll Administrator is accountable for the accurate preparation, documentation, and distribution of payroll for Crane Aerospace & Electronics U.S. locations. This position is responsible for researching issues and providing guidance to the sites for resolution/correction related to timekeeping and payroll processing activities and outputs (checks, reports, files). The Payroll Administrator acts as the liaison between the A&E locations and the payroll processing vendor for supported sites. This position ensures that Crane standard and legal payroll processes are followed, and audit practices are properly performed.

Essential Functions:
- Ensure that accurate and timely data transfers occur between the A&E locations, the Time & Attendance System and payroll according to defined schedules.
- Reviews the computation of pay and associated deductions for accuracy.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of city, state, provincial, local, and federal legislation affecting payroll; understands and follows applicable provisions.
- Responds to and resolves any inquiries regarding paychecks or payroll reporting.
- Ensures payroll issues are escalated and resolved promptly.
- Assists with new tax filing set up and resolving tax related issues.
- Assists with auditing payroll reports.
- Works with HR team members to identify and resolve common problems.
- Any other task assigned by supervisor or management.
Minimum Qualifications:
3 years of experience managing payroll for a mid-sized to large organization or multiple locations
Experience with an automated time and attendance system
Extensive experience in payroll accounting, compliance practices and theories related to payroll systems and processes.
Knowledge: Continuous Improvement training or equivalent process improvement knowledge, Problem Solving & Root cause analysis.
Skills/Abilities:
Excellent organizational and time management skills for managing multiple, diverse, and conflicting priorities.
Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills with proven attention to detail.
Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience processing payroll for a unionized environment
Experience processing payroll for a manufacturing environment
Working Conditions:
Standard office environment
Work requires substantial visual concentration on detail
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary

Salary range: $91,800 - $115,200 Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
