Job Details

• Lead the monthly payroll process for shareholders, including retiree payments, special tax overrides, and adjustments
• Review semi-monthly payroll edits for accuracy and compliance
• Manage employee wage garnishments, child support orders, and tax levy processes
• Review and process manual checks and wires as needed
• Collaborate closely with Human Resources on benefit premiums, 401(k) deductions, and employee leave of absence situations
• Monitor the payroll email inbox and respond to inquiries from employees and internal stakeholders in a timely manner
• Partner with the accounting team on payroll reconciliations
• Review new hire and status change updates in the payroll system
• Independently identify and resolve payroll discrepancies
• Manage and maintain PTO balances across the firm
• Document and update payroll procedures on an ongoing basis
• Assist the Payroll Manager with quarterly and fiscal year-end shareholder bonus processing
• Generate ad hoc payroll reports as requested by leadership

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field required
• Minimum 5 years of payroll processing experience, multi-office and multi-state experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency in UKG Pro payroll system preferred
• Proficiency in iManage Records Manager and Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of wage garnishments, tax levies, child support withholdings, and payroll tax compliance
• Proven ability to independently resolve discrepancies and manage high-volume payroll cycles with accuracy
• Strong communication skills and ability to maintain strict employee confidentiality at all times
• Must be dependable and available during scheduled work hours, including responsiveness via Zoom, email, and phone for any approved flexible arrangements
