About the Role

DebtBlue is seeking a detail-driven and motivated Staff Accountant II to join our Accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a hands-on role and enjoys collaborating with cross-functional partners.

If you have 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, hold a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation, and are comfortable managing payroll and general accounting responsibilities, we'd love to meet you. Experience with iSolved and QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is highly preferred (but not required).

What You'll Do

• Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger entries and account reconciliations
• Support month-end and year-end close activities
• Process and oversee payroll administration, preferably using iSolved
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies
• Assist with audits by preparing documentation and addressing auditor inquiries
• Contribute to financial statement preparation and variance analyses
• Maintain organized financial records in accordance with company policies
• Partner with HR and leadership teams on payroll and accounting needs

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) required
• Experience with iSolved payroll/HRIS (preferred)
• 5+ years of experience with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise
• Solid understanding of GAAP and payroll compliance
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
• High attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting multi-company accounting books
• Knowledge of internal controls and audit procedures
• Strong problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach
