Payroll Associate

The Kelly Group is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Associate for its Decatur, Illinois, office. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of clerical and/or accounting experience as well as experience as a payroll clerk or similar role.

This position requires the ability to perform these essential duties:

• Collect and verify timekeeping information for all employees
• Update paper and electronic payroll records by entering adjustments on pay rates, employee status changes, etc.
• Display excellent organizational, time management and communication skills
• Utilize data input skills while maintaining critical accuracy
• Use various types of software, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and a payroll management application (previous SAGE knowledge is a plus)
• Maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality

Other preferred qualifications sought include:

• Multi-state payroll experience with strong analytical background
• Knowledge of federal, state and local employment regulations and tax processing
• Knowledge of the payroll cycle and the impact on the general ledger
• Knowledge of time and material and contract practices
• Understanding of monthly and quarterly payroll filings
