Position Summary

Defense Holdings, Inc. (DHi) is seeking a Hybrid Payroll & Accounting Coordinator to manage payroll processing, maintain accounting records, and ensure compliance with tax and employment regulations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in payroll and accounting coordination.

This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate with team members effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Billing & Accounts Processing

  • Process payroll accurately and on time for all employees.
  • Maintain payroll records and reconcile payroll accounts.
  • Assist with general accounting functions and journal entries.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Prepare payroll reports for management review.
  • Support audits and payroll reconciliations.

Cross-Department Coordination

  • Collaborate with HR, finance, and operations teams.
  • Ensure payroll and accounting procedures align with company policies and industry standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in payroll processing or accounting coordination.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in government contracting or defense-related payroll and accounting.
  • Familiarity with ERP and payroll platforms.

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance may be required.
