Job Description
Temporary Payroll & Benefits Clerk
Location: Browns Summit, NCPay: $25.00 per hourSchedule: Onsite onlyJob Type: Temporary, assignment length is currently undetermined
A distribution center in Browns Summit is seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Payroll & Benefits Clerk to assist its Human Resources team. This position will focus on reviewing payroll deductions, employee benefit records, and invoices to ensure information is accurate and discrepancies are resolved.
Responsibilities
- Review and reconcile employee benefit elections, payroll deductions, and carrier invoices
- Compare information across payroll reports, benefit records, and invoices
- Identify missing, incorrect, or duplicate payroll deductions
- Research discrepancies and assist with making corrections
- Review benefit and payroll changes related to new hires, terminations, and employee status changes
- Maintain accurate Excel reports and reconciliation trackers
- Assist with 401(k), medical, dental, vision, life insurance, FSA, and other benefit reconciliations
- Maintain organized records and follow outstanding items through resolution
Qualifications
- Previous experience in payroll, benefits, accounting, bookkeeping, or financial reconciliation preferred
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
- Experience using XLOOKUP or VLOOKUP, PivotTables, formulas, filters, and SUMIFS
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with numbers and large amounts of data
- Ability to identify and research discrepancies independently
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Experience with Paylocity or another payroll system is a plus
- Ability to handle confidential employee and payroll information appropriately
