Payroll Clerk
Our client is seeking a part time Payroll Clerk who will assist the manager with a variety of data entry, reporting, and clerical duties. This position provides a great opportunity to join a robust company for someone with payroll experience who is seeking to work 20-30 hours a week
Responsibilities:
Audits timesheets for accuracy and compliance with payroll policy and procedures, contacts preparers or approvers as appropriate to resolve discrepancies. Accurately enters data into the payroll system to produce weekly and bi-weekly payroll. Works with excel output reports, interprets data and recommends action as necessary. Keeps accurate record of employee maintenance records including earnings, deductions, taxes and benefits. Knowledge of union employee pay requirements a plus. Resolves employee payroll problems. Update employee payroll records with new hires, terminations, and salary changes. Provide administrative and clerical support to the Payroll Manager. Other duties as assigned and required.
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in payroll processing or similar roles. Ability to work independently on multiple tasks with varying priorities. Must be able to meet strict deadlines. Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong numerical and data entry skills. Minimum of 2 years experience with payroll software ADP and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly is critical to this role.
