Job Description
Summary of Position: Teens participating in After School Matters programs earn a stipend for their participation. The Payroll Intern is responsible for assisting with all functions related to the administration of stipends for program participants. The Payroll Intern is also responsible for supporting with administrative duties associated with other work conducted by the Payroll Division, as well as the Finance Department. Such tasks include—but are not limited to—contacting program providers and teen participants, staffing the Teen Stipend Hotline, preparing mailings, and assisting with weekly reporting.This is a part-time position that works 25 hours per week, 5 hours per day Monday - Friday. The expected start date is June 1, 2026.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with all aspects of the program stipend payroll process, from ensuring proper paperwork is submitted to successfully paying a teen participant
- Respond to stipend-related calls, e-mails, and tickets
- Navigate ADP Payroll Systems, Cityspan, RingCentral, and Zendesk
- Aid teens, parents, and instructors in obtaining information about teen payments (pay status, method of pay, etc.)
- Assist payroll to ensure teen contact and address information is accurate
- Assist with Payroll events (Wisely Pay Card Replacement Events, Teen Intern I-9 Events, etc.)
- Perform related duties, as required, to support and promote the efficient operation of the Payroll Division, the Finance Department, and After School Matters as a whole
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to manage detail-oriented work
- Strong orientation to customer service in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Administrative tasks, including copying, mailing, filing and attention to detail
- Desire to help internal and external customers
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Spanish speaking a plus
Qualifications:
- GED or high school diploma required
- Either some college or 1+ year of office or customer service experience required
