Payroll Manager
Richmond, VA | Onsite | Full-Time$90,000 - $110,000
We're seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations for a growing multi-state organization. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for payroll accuracy, compliance, payroll tax administration, process improvement, and team development.
Responsibilities
- Manage and process multi-state payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Oversee payroll taxes, deductions, garnishments, and year-end reporting.
- Lead payroll audits, reconciliations, and process improvements.
- Manage payroll systems and timekeeping processes.
- Coach and develop payroll team members.
- Partner with HR, Finance, and Operations to support business needs.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of hands-on payroll experience, including multi-state payroll.
- 3+ years of payroll leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and payroll compliance.
- Experience improving payroll processes and controls.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with payroll systems; Paycom experience preferred.
- CPP certification preferred.
