Overview
The Payroll Operations and Employee Service Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and execution of employee payroll tasks in close partnership with the corporate Managed Services Provider. This role processes and analyzes structural reports according to established schedules while maintaining critical data required for legal, tax, or audit purposes. Additionally, this specialist manages multi-channel service inquiries from employees, managers, and business-unit stakeholders to deliver timely information and resolve payroll or time-tracking issues.

Key Responsibilities
Payroll Cycle Execution : Manage daily workloads and strict processing deadlines alongside the Managed Services Provider to ensure multi-state payroll is accurate, complete, timely, and compliant with internal control procedures.
Data Entry & Alignment : Perform accurate entry of job, salary, and personal data not covered by system interfaces. Analyze and resolve any live data discrepancies between the HRIS and payroll database platforms.
Audit & Compliance Reporting : Review, correct, and approve transactional data inputs. Analyze pre- and post-payroll audit reports to identify mistakes, implement corrections, and maintain compliance with SOX requirements, internal control standards, and supporting documentation.
Off-Cycle & Final Pay : Prepare and process off-cycle payrolls to ensure absolute compliance with changing state regulations concerning final pay delivery.
Ticketing & Incident Management : Systematically enter, follow up on, and resolve incoming service tickets within the ServiceNow and ADP CRM platforms.
Stakeholder Support : Act as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding time and payroll system functionality. Support internal employees with questions regarding personnel records, time input, earnings, deductions, and taxes while assisting corporate Benefits, Compensation, and Finance colleagues.
Garnishment Processing : Provide ongoing operational support to the corporate garnishment process, partnering directly with managed services when needed.
Confidentiality & Data Security : Maintain absolute confidentiality, data privacy, and data security across all payroll records and employee interactions.
Must Have Skills / Requirements
Payroll Knowledge : Demonstrated, complete understanding of the end-to-end Payroll Processing Cycle (Input, Process, Output).
Regulatory Compliance : Ability to research, interpret, and apply intermediate federal, state, and local regulations regarding payroll, labor, and employment.
Analytical Skills : Superior analytical and organizational skills with a focus on synthesizing data, isolating root causes, using sound judgment, and articulating financial conclusions to stakeholders.
Software Mastery : Strong Microsoft Office skills backed by advanced, functional Excel proficiency. Flawless attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
Time Management : Exceptional time management skills with the proven ability to prioritize, multitask, and balance competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced, and deadline-driven team environment.
Customer Service Acumen : Highly customer-service oriented with the ability to manage workplace relationships proactively and resolve conflicts productively.
Preferred Qualifications
Functional experience processing payroll within ADP GlobalView, Ceridian Dayforce, or SAP enterprise platforms.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) from the American Payroll Association (APA).
Education & Experience
Experience : 3–5 years of professional multi-state payroll processing experience handling large employee populations (5,000+ employees).
Education : Associate degree or an equivalent combination of verifiable work experience and education.
