Feel free to enrich both your personal and work life and hop on board!Why you'll love this jobThis job is a member of the Payroll Operations team within the Finance Division.Responsible for timely and accurate processing of assigned employee payroll checks including collection, review, input, edit, output and verification of payroll data.What you'll doAs noted above, this list is intended to reflect the current job but there may be additional essential functions (and certainly non-essential job functions) that are not referenced. Management will modify the job or require other tasks be performed whenever it is deemed appropriate to do so, observing, of course, any legal obligations including any collective bargaining obligations.Processes payroll data accurately by the required deadlineConsistently applies company policy and government regulations to all processingMaintains the security and confidentiality of all payroll related informationReviews audit reports for accuracy and requests corrections as necessaryResearches team member inquiries and provides solutions as required in a timely mannerKnowledgeable of labor agreements and applicable processing requirements to specific workforce groups, such as unionsOrganizes and maintains records utilizing special processing that reduces the occurrences of incorrect payments to employeesAdheres to existing SOX processing maps and requirementsAssists in special projects, system testing, and other duties as assignedDocuments and updates proceduresAnalyzes business processes, making changes as necessary to increase efficiencies, adhering to existing SOX processing maps and requirementsAnalyze large amounts of data using Microsoft tools such as Excel/MacrosAll you'll need for successMinimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job ExperienceHigh School diploma or GED equivalent or equivalent training/experience3 years of working in a high volume, multi-state payroll department and/or payroll, accounting or human resource experiencePreferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job ExperienceExperience with payroll systems (SAP preferred)Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience/trainingSkills, Licenses & CertificationsAbove average customer experience and organizational skillsAbility to work as a team player in a high stress environmentUse of analytical skills to identify and address potential issuesAbility to explain and interpret complex payroll information to employees at all levels of the organizationSkilled in Microsoft Office suite (e.g. Excel, Word)Feel free to be yourself at AmericanFrom the team members we hire to the customers we serve, inclusion and diversity are the foundation of the dynamic workforce at .
