Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to oversee and manage daily payroll operations while serving as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries. The ideal candidate will have strong Workday experience, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to lead payroll processes while ensuring accurate and timely employee compensation.
Job Description
- Serve as the primary contact for day-to-day payroll and Workday inquiries.
- Collect, review, and verify employee timekeeping information for payroll processing.
- Calculate employee pay based on hours worked, including overtime, paid leave, and other payroll adjustments.
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule by preparing payroll checks and/or administering direct deposits through the banking system.
- Issue payroll statements and invoices as needed while maintaining accurate payroll records.
- Respond to payroll-related questions and resolve concerns from employees and management in a professional and timely manner.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Maintain payroll confidentiality and ensure the integrity of payroll data.
- Support continuous process improvements and assist with payroll reporting as needed.
- Shift: Monday-Friday 8-5pm
Skills Required
- 3–5 years of payroll experience required.
- Hands-on experience with Workday is required.
- Previous lead or supervisory experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, timekeeping, overtime, and leave administration.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees and leadership.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
Preferred Skills
- Experience leading or mentoring payroll team members.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict payroll deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Education
- High school diploma required
Pay Rate
- $20 - $26 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
