Job Description

DescriptionHomeBuys is a growing retail discount outlet chain, presently 16 stores in Ohio, Michigan, and Kentucky. There are plans to open three more in FY2026. We are looking for a skilled payroll specialist with knowledge in all facets of the end-to-end payroll process. To assist on the entering new employees into Paychex to payroll journal entry.

Responsibilities

* Management the weekly payroll cycle.

* Process new employees

* Process termination paperwork

* Workers Comp

* Garnishments process

* All elements pf payroll

* Assist in reconciliation

Skills & Compensation

* 1-5 years' experience in payroll

* NetSuite or other ERP system experience preferred

* Experience in retail a plus

* Experience and knowledge of payroll package e.g., Paychex

* Solid understanding of accounting principles and best practices

* Ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting data and financial records

* Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers

* Proficiency in MS Office

* Customer service orientation and negotiation skills; the ability to communicate issues to buyers and vendors is a necessity

* High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

* BS degree in Accounting/Business preferred, but experience in lieu of degree considered
