Payroll Specialist - temp to hireLocation: Litchfield, CTSchedule: Full-TimePay: $32-36/hr, based on experience Position OverviewOur client is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their team due to an immediate opening. This position is responsible for processing payroll accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with payroll regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate has experience managing payroll from start to finish, is detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and on schedule using Paychex.
• Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data integrity.
• Review and reconcile payroll data, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefits.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Prepare payroll reports and assist with audits as needed.
• Work closely with Human Resources and Accounting to maintain accurate employee information.
• Support payroll-related projects and process improvements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll processing experience.
• Experience using Paychex is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of payroll laws, taxes, and compliance requirements.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Additional Information

• Position may be based in Amenia, NY or Litchfield, CT.
• Training will take place in Amenia alongside the current Payroll Specialist.
• Mileage reimbursement is available for travel during the training period, if applicable.
• Candidates working from the Amenia location must reside in Connecticut.
