Job Details

Position: Payroll SpecialistLocation: Quincy, WASchedule: Full-Time | On-site

We are looking for an experienced payroll professional who can manage complex payroll processes in a construction environment, including union payroll administration, prevailing wage compliance, and certified payroll reporting for government contracts.

This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of payroll tax regulations, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll ProcessingProcess weekly and bi-weekly payroll for union and non-union employeesEnsure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, deductions, garnishments, and fringe benefitsMaintain payroll records in compliance with company policies and regulationsPrevailing Wage & Certified PayrollInterpret and apply federal, state, and local prevailing wage requirementsReview and validate certified payroll reportsPrepare and submit certified payroll reports for government contractsEnsure accurate worker classifications and fringe benefit allocationsUnion Payroll AdministrationCalculate and remit union dues, benefits, and contributionsPrepare union reports and coordinate payments to union trust fundsMaintain union rate tables and benefit schedulesPayroll Tax & CompliancePrepare and reconcile payroll tax filings including 941, 940, and W-2 reportingEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulationsRespond to payroll tax notices and resolve discrepancies

Additional ResponsibilitiesReconcile payroll-related general ledger accountsSupport internal and external auditsAssist with year-end payroll processesMaintain strict confidentiality of payroll data

QualificationsRequired3+ years of payroll experienceExperience with certified payroll and prevailing wage complianceExperience processing union payrollStrong understanding of payroll tax reporting and complianceProficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Excel

PreferredConstruction or government contracting payroll experienceMulti-state payroll processing experienceCertified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation
