Job Description
Job Title: Payroll Specialist Location: Appleton, WI Duration: Jul 26 - Jul 27Payrate: $23 hour-$25 hour on w2Job description:
- Responsible for processing union payroll, reports, and government taxes.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Coordinate with field management staff to collect union new hire paperwork.
- Ensure information is complete and accurate, following up on any issues or missing information.
- Create union employee record in ERP system, updating employment data or status changes. Ensure severance, termination, and disciplinary forms are reflected appropriately.
- Using reports, review field time entry for potential errors in hours, union, pay class, and per diem. Follow up with site teams and address as appropriate prior to payroll processing.
- Process weekly union payroll and off-cycle checks in a timely manner by importing time details and validating entries created. Confirm calculation of earnings, deductions, garnishments, union liabilities, and taxes. Ensure paychecks are distributed on time.
- Prepare monthly union remittances. Using system reports, calculate amounts and submit payment requests, ensuring reconciliation between liabilities accrued and payments. Match payments with labor details and remit to appropriate funds.
- Prepare reports, check for accuracy, and resolve discrepancies as part of business recordkeeping and compliance activities.
- • Respond to and resolve inquiries related to union employee payroll.
- • Submit new hire reports to state agencies.
