Trident Consulting is currently seeking a " Payroll Specialist " for one of our industry-leading clients.Job Title: Payroll SpecialistLocation: Aliso Viejo, CA (100% Onsite, 5 Days/Week)Type: ContractShift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMPay Rate: $48/hr W2We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage multi-state U.S. payroll operations and support international payroll activities. The ideal candidate will have strong payroll processing experience, knowledge of payroll taxes, garnishments, payroll journal entries, W-2 processing, and compliance with federal and state payroll regulations.Key Responsibilities:
- Process multi-state U.S. payroll using outsourced payroll systems
- Maintain employee payroll records and personnel changes
- Manage payroll taxes, garnishments, 401(k), and stock purchase plan deductions
- Prepare payroll-related journal entries and account reconciliations
- Support international payroll coordination
- Assist with audits, SOX compliance, and workers' compensation reporting
- 5+ years of payroll processing experience
- Experience with multi-state payroll
- Knowledge of payroll taxes, garnishments, and payroll compliance
- Exposure to general ledger and journal entries
- Strong Excel and ERP system knowledge
- Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
