Job Description:
The Payroll Tax Analyst plays a key role in ensuring accurate and compliant payroll tax operations across federal, state, and local jurisdictions. This position partners with Payroll, Finance, and HR teams to manage tax filings, resolve agency notices, monitor regulatory changes, and support ongoing payroll tax compliance and process improvements.

- Proven work experience with multi state, local and FEIN payroll tax administration.
- Experience with payroll systems and tax filing platforms (UKG Pro, Workday, ADP Smart Compliance)
- Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, and formulas).
- 3+ years of direct Payroll Tax administration.
- Ability to work with confidential information.
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for answering tax-related questions from employees, leaders and agencies.
- Research and assist in resolving payroll tax notices in a timely manner.
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes and updates systems and processes accordingly.
- Performs ongoing audits to identify and resolve compliance issues.
- Collaborate with the Payroll team members to ensure accurate employee tax set up.
- Responsible for biweekly, monthly, quarterly and annual tax filings and reconciliations.
- Demonstrates advanced payroll tax knowledge and able to communicate effectively, internally, and externally, regarding tax issues.
- Partners with Payroll Tax Manager in the completion of payroll tax registrations.
- Partners with Payroll Tax manager, in the preparation, audits, and filing of annual tax returns.
- Processes payroll tax adjustments, amendments, for state and federal and local returns.
- Works closely with internal stakeholders, including Finance, HR, and Benefits, to address payroll tax related inquiries and issues.
- Processes quarter adhoc quarterly and annual reports.
- Supports payroll tax audits and internal/external compliance reviews.
- Supports payroll tax testing, to ensure accuracy of system tax calculations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve payroll tax discrepances, notices, penalties, and agency inquiries.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance payroll tax processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist in maintaining comprehensive documentations of payroll tax processes, policies, and procedures.
- Completion of ad hoc projects and tasks as required.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources.
- Certified Payroll Certification CPP

The estimated pay range stated represents the typical pay range for this position or similarly employed employees or employees performing substantially similar work. Factors which may be used to determine the actual pay rate may include, but are not limited to, education, training or experience; seniority; merit and work performance; quantity or quality of production; regional differences in compensation; differences in local minimum wages, or ability and effort.
Position's Pay Range:
$75,000 - 85,000 annually.
