Job Description
This is an amazing opportunity for a physical therapist with specialty interest/skill in pelvic health physical therapy. Mentoring and support available to grow into this role.
Reviews and evaluates outpatients and inpatients referred to Physical Therapy by physicians; performs tests and measures and evaluates findings; establishes patient care plans including short term and long term goals with designated treatments required by individual patients; communicates patient needs with patient and/or families to gain cooperation and involvement in treatment; instructs patients and/or families in conducting prescribed treatments at home when indicated. Administers physical therapy treatment techniques (e.g., exercise, moist heat, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, manual techniques including tool assisted soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilizations and massage, etc.) to restore body functions, relieve pain, and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of body part; instructs patients in care and use of braces, canes, crutches, or prosthetic devices; records patient evaluation and progress information in medical records; actively communicates pertinent patient information to other members of health care team. Directs patient care activities of Physical Therapist Assistants, Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapy Aides, student clinical affiliates, and volunteers; participates in training programs for other Allied Health departments in the hospital. Assists with completion of special projects as required and/or assigned; as requested, supervises activities in Rehab. Department in absence of Director or Assistant Director. Develops and demonstrates knowledge of current advances in Physical Therapy to maintain professional competency through literature review, peer review or continuing education. Attends all mandatory education and in-services (i.e., team training, safety, infection control, etc.); completes mandatory health requirements. Employee performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital's and department's Ethics and Compliance program and is responsible to detect, observe and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, or upward through the chain of command, the Compliance Officer, or the hospital hotline.
Requirements
Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program of study. Licensed by the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board to practice Physical Therapy in the state of Ohio. Maintains continuous certification in American Heart Association's BLS. Experience in pelvic health therapy preferred.
